If you’re in the NYC area, please come to this much-loved literary/jazzy venue.

John’s debut novel The Book of Ash takes place in the not too distant future (though at a more distant time than our reading, just to give you a ballpark idea), and is reminiscent of Kurt Vonnegut. John’s book of short stories Two-Syllable Men will be published by Vine Leaves Press this spring:

Our next tennis match is bound to be a “Bobby Riggs vs. Billie Jean King” type situation – or at least like the episode of The Odd Couple, titled “The Pig Who Came to Dinner,” in which they both guest starred. Please come hear us read before the blood-letting on the court begins:

ssos-partners named Jill Dearman’s The Great Bravura a Holiday Pick (right between Isabel Allende and John Irving’s new novels):

Buzzfeed named The Great Bravura one of its “5 LGBT Books to Binge Read this Fall,” in the company of Alan Cumming’s new book.

Go Magazine

Published a feature story by author Jill Dearman on “Lesbian Noir and The Birth of a Novel.”

The Reading Room included The Great Bravura in its “12 Books to Match Your Fall TV Obsession”round up:

Lambda Literary Review recommended The Great Bravura  just below Michael Cunningham’s (The Hours) latest book.

RT Reviews wrote: “With the illusion of a good magic show and the captivating edge of the early 20th century, The Great Bravura spellbinds readers in its twisted tale.”

Our launch party for The Great Bravura at Weather Up Tribeca was a huge success. Books were graciously sold at the event through Mystery Icon Otto Penzler’s “Mysterious Book Shoppe.”CaseyJillWeatherUPSigned Copies can be purchased in person or online at:

coming soon: Jill reads on NPR, and Robert Polito interviews Jill in The Brooklyn Rail.

Thank you and a Happy Thanksgiving to all!
